Well it’s a neaw year so that means New shows, new music, and good times. First keep your eyes and ears open for a New album which should be out in Feb. or March. It is a split album done with our friends Dables. Also we don’t have too many shows booked yet, but we’ve been working on some new tracks and hope to go to the Jam Room Studio to record our 2nd album. THis will likely happen in the Summer and MAY, be released late this year. Hope everyone enjoyed 2012, and get ready because we’re going to help make 2013 one hell of a year. -MJM

Hope to see you at all or any of these wonderful events. There are great regional artists playing for cheap providing hours of entertainment.
We Are The Upstate did an interview with us, check it out!
It’s Wednesday night in Fountain Inn at Jake Garrett’s house. Fats Domino is playing on vinyl in the back ground, the air is thick with smoke, and everyone’s glass is filled with whiskey. This is an average Wednesday night for Mason Jar Menagerie before band practice. Members Jake Garrett (lead vocals and guitar), Susan Garrett (drums and vocals), and Ameer Raja (bass and vocals) let me sit down with them and ask all about the band.
So first, a big thank you to Steve for letting Mason Jar and Dables use the practice space for recording our split LP. It is going to be about 12-14 tracks, and may be out this Fall/Winter. But had a blast recording in a hot building with little to no air circulation in Columbia,SC during the summer.
Also we have a good weekend tour w/ Stereofly’s Southern Showcase on August 17th @ The Radio Room (Greenville, SC), August 18th @ Art Bar (Columbia, SC) and August 19th @ Pourhouse (Charleston,SC).
So come here some of the best local/regional artists in the SouthEast. There will be a variety of music genres accounted for, so please come out and support local artists.
Just a quick update on projects, shows, and artist we support and think you may want to check out.
-We are soon to be recording a split album with our buddies Dables. So look for that by the end of summer or maybe this fall. (Depending on time and if everyone is cool with it, there may be a secret song or two on the album, so keep listening.)
Thanks to everyone that came out to the show at Gottrocks we got to with Italo and The Passions (one of the bands you should go check out!) They were great and we had a blast that night.
We are playing a few shows in August. The 17th and 18th. Hope you can fit some good music into your schedule on those dates.
Our buddies The Foothills Toe Jam are having a cd release show July 28th at The Radio Room
Also if you have not heard them yet go to the We Are The Upstate website and check out The Long Canes, Ryan Sheffield, and Jeremy Ray and watch some videos from their recent show at Cabin Floor Records.
Got some show dates and artists for everyone to check out. So get out you notepads and mark your calendars for the following:
